Stylized Design

• Iconic- Immediately recognised by their silhouette 
• Simplicity- Understand and digest purpose of characters easily
• Unique- Memorable and makes an impact on viewers

Principles of Character Design 

• Shapes- Used to identify a character from one another.

• Colour- Important on determining and separate the basic characteristic of heroes, villains and even background characters.
  
  
• Emphasis, Contrast- Exaggerates on the emphasis and contrasting visual elements to make the design stand out.
  
  
• Harmony- Every elements in your design should compliment each other.
  
  
• Expressions, Poses- Characters behaviours, quirks, personalities make it easier to appeal to your viewers.

TASK 1

VORMATOR CHALLENGE

We were tasked to create a character using these vormator shapes that was given to us, we were first tasked to sketch out our characters then try to use the vormator shapes to define and create our characters.

I took these references and inspirations from Pinterest to create few rough sketches of my vormator characters, I wanted my character to look like a mini cute spirit that is friendly yet menacing, I took inspirations from golems, cute ghost spirits, a character from clash royale called the electric spirit and a few dark like spirits.

These are just rough sketches and have not tried to use the vormator to see if it works with my characters yet, I made theses sketches on procreate I tried to roughly sketch out the vormator given to see if it works well with my rough sketches.
